At Home With Olive
This week we caught up with the lovely Olive, founder of PIECES, to chat all things interiors, antique hunting and her favourite ALB pieces.
Can you tell us a bit about PIECES?
PIECEs is an online moodboard, as well as a mailout, for all things interiors anddesign-related.
What does a typical day at PIECES look like to you?
A lot of scrolling! I search far and wide; high and low for design inspiration. I love to delve into old image archives and go down Instagram wormholes finding new makers and creatives- and sharing them with my followers.
Your favourite antique hunting spots?
Car boot sales are the best for finding unexpected treasures. There is a great one in Holloway, near where I live, and Chiswick Car Boot sale is definitely worth a trip to. Otherwise, I find a lot of incredible pieces via Instagram. L’Absurde Objet, Oculus, Four Quarters Home and The Beaux Store always have such unique finds.
What makes a house a home for you?
For me, it’s a space that should feel restorative. I think of each room as a little shrineto my favourite memories. Whether it’s in the art, trinkets or fabrics – there is a lot ofnostalgia floating around my house
How would you describe your interiors style?
Eclectic! It’s Grey Gardens by way of Chateau Marmont (in my dreams, at least).
Which are your favourite interior accounts to follow on Instagram?
Lucy Williams Home, Flamingo Estate, Picnic For Lunch and Mouse Interiors are the accounts I love most, style-wise. I’m drawn to people who mix and match pieces inunexpected ways.
Which are your three favourite ALB pieces?
I love them all but if I had to choose… I’ve got my eye on the Cerise & Fuchsia Extra Wide Stripe Cushion Cover, Lobster Oval Platter and Riviera tablecloth. Perfection.
